Access to information

The Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (NSW) (GIPA Act) provides an open and transparent process for giving the public access to information held by NSW public sector agencies, including information held by the Crown Solicitor's Office (CSO).

Agency Information Guide

The CSO's Agency Information Guide outlines:

  • the CSO's structure and functions
  • the ways in which our functions affect members of the community
  • how members of the public can provide feedback, make complaints, and provide suggestion to the CSO
  • how membere of the public can access information held by the CSO.

The guide is published in accordance with section 20 of the GIPA Act.

Formal access applications

Applicants can submit a formal access application by contacting the Right to Information Officer.

Disclosure log

Under section 25 of the GIPA Act, the CSO is required to keep a disclosure log that documents the information we release in response to access applications, and which may be of interest to other members of the public. The disclosure log will be updated as we receive access applications.
